City-based spinning mills in expansion mode plans to double the no. of its showrooms

Sivaraj Spinning Mills (P) Ltd Garment Division, a leading name in men’s apparel, including outer wear, inner wear and ethnic wear under the well-known brand ‘Chennis’ will be focusing on product development and innovation in the near future. The company also produces kids and women’s wear in selective ranges. Briefing the media Mr. Subrata Pal, Chief Executive Officer of the company stated that while now the brand is present in Tamil Nadu, Andhra, Telangana, Karnataka and Punjab, in the next two years, the company aims to become a national brand spread across the country. “Our plan is spread across the western market like Mumbai, Pune, and Ahmedabad by the end of the financial year. We will be opening the northern and eastern market in the next financial year. By 2020 we want to become a national brand with presence in all four regions of our country,” he added. Continuing further on the topic Mr. Sivaraj, Executive Director, stated “that the company aims to double the number of its showrooms from the present 15 to 30. The focus would be on metro and semi-metro cities in company owned, company operated, as well as franchisee showrooms.” As part of its initiatives the company is setting up a model store in Brookfield, Coimbatore, followed by Pollachi, Tirupur and more. Other than the focus on visual merchandizing, the other major attraction will be an omni channel customer experience, merging digital and offline channels. Mr. Pal said that “We are currently covering 500 active multi-brand outlet which will be enhanced to 3,500 outlets by the end of the financial year.” Mr.Sivaraj throwing light on the future plans observed that the company also intends to target the top 15 retailers in the country by the end of the year. This would increase the company’s spread to 700 counters in modern retail outlets. The company intends to aggressively expand its e-commerce portfolio also. Mr. Pal said “The e-commerce industry is growing by 300 % YOY. We are partnering top 6 – e-commerce market places of the country, starting this month onwards.” As part of its aggressive expansion plans the company is planning to invest heavily on new product development, human resources and innovation
